In Fort No. 3 St. louis, Missouri under arrest from 3rd of june 1863. he was under arrest for Mutiny. In the next paragraph it will explain why. He was one of a group of men who volunteered in the fall of 1861 as Unitied States Reserve Corp. When the Unit was reorganized as Unitied States Volunteers on november 20, 1862 the men were miss lead into thinking that the reorganization was for the purpose of payment and clothing allocation only. When it became apparent that the 2nd Missouri would be required to serve outside of the state, many company's mutineyed claiming there status as reserve troops prevented them from having to serve outside of the state. After their greivances were studyed by special military commission it was determined that the facts concerning the units reorganization had infact been miss represented. Therefore Order No. 219, dated 13 August 1863 was issued providing for the mustering out of all members of the 2nd Missouri Volunteer Artilllery, who had enlisted proir November 20, 1861.
